COUNSELLING: WHO MAY BENEFIT?
My original training in the 1980s was in counselling. I now work with an organisation which provides psychological services to businesses and other corporations, offering brief interventions to employees. I also see private counselling clients.Counselling can be helpful if you generally cope well with life but are experiencing recent difficulties or feel ready to make personal or professional changes. Typically, counselling lasts from 6 to 24 sessions and is an opportunity to talk through specific problems. It provides support whilst making decisions and going through transitions, or is simply a quiet space to reflect. I do not give advice but help you to express yourself, consider your options and find your own answers. People have benefited from counselling:
Fees for counselling are £48 - £55 per session, with some reduced fee sessions occasionally available for those on low income or benefits.
If difficulties are complex and long-standing, I may recommend longer-term psychotherapy instead.
